LDTate, After you left, I went to the site the diagnostic sent me to and just started reading until I had some idea about what I was doing. Then I ran their fix-it program and it seems to be working……..
first, I didn't fix anything, you did….. second, it worked fine this morning for a while and then started it's stuff again…….. so I went back and re-read that stuff about winsock again and have now realized that there is third-party software in there and the wi-fi card is part of it. It's called Intersil Prism wireless lan, and if you goole it, it's still and a big communications data, now to find out if I can just it to one spot and leave it or If I can just shut it off, or if I have to replace it. I thought all along that besides the bugs and stuff, that the wi-fi had issues because it was bouncing around too much for it to be stable. So, if you want to keep a hand in it and see what happens, great……. If you have had enough and want to walk, that's cool………. I just didn't think you folks quit when you run out of ideas………….. Thanks for the help you did give me, I wouldn't be anywhere without it…..thanks..
This part of the forum is for Malware Removal and most of the Malware Team aren't training in hardware issues. That's why I suggested you start a new topic in our Browser Forum for technical / hardware help from our Tech Team.
I wouldn't call it a hardware issue if you can get it working and then it changes, probably needs up-dating of the firmware maybe, but not a hardware issue.
