can't get wireless to work

i have verizon dsl with a 6100g modem. and a linksys wireless n router. everything is blinking like it should be working, but when i run the linksys cd it says cannot find router. i had the router hooked up to this computer before, only with cable internet. now since im going on mini vacation in march i want the wireless hooked up for my brother cause he's going to dog sit… he'll need it for his laptop and games. and i wanna see what wii online is all about too. help!!!!!!!! im not very computer savvy……. sooo u might have to explain things easier for me :pullhair:
Hi and welcome to the WTT forum :welcome: Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your router. 1 Make sure that you have a good connection between your router and your computer's network port using a cat 5 (patch) cable. Can you now see your Network connection (Start>Control Panel>Network Connections? if so copy down and include all the details in your reply.Next 2 Click on Start 3 Right Click on My Computer 4 Click on Properties 5 Click on Hardware 6 Click on Device Manager 7 Scroll down to "Network Adapters" click on the + sign to its left and tell me if there is a yellow or Red flag against the entry, Then copy down the name of your your Network adapter and post it back here in this thread and I will advise the next step. When you post back please also give me the exact make and model number of your Modem and router. regards paws
