Hi Sorry to hear of the problem with your network configurations
It sounds as though there mey be some configuration errors in your router/modem/wireless access point and your computer

Maybe you will want to get your friend back to configure things for you?
Alternatively we can help you set things up, but we will need a lot more information than you have provided…
  • Make and model number of your Router
  • Make and model number of your modem (unless incorporated within your router)
  • Make and model number of your wireless Access Point (unless incorporated within your modem)
  • Make and model number of your computer
  • Operating system on your computer (Win 7 Vista, XP etc., and whether its 32 or 64 bit)
  • Method of connecting to the Internet, (Cable or ASDL)
  • Description of your wired network adapter (Make and model )
  • Description of your wireless Network adapter Make and model)
  • Look in Device Manager are there any yellow or Red markers shown against any of your network adapters?
From your computer that is having problems with the Internet please run the following command from a command prompt (use a command prompt with elevated privilidges if running on Vista or 7)
at the DOS prompt type in:

cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping bbc.co.uk >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

Note please copy and paste this exactly as shown as the syntax is important for this to work correctly)

Then copy the output back in your reply with the answers to the other questions and we will do our best to help
Regards
