I've tried to get pictures off my new Canon camera and the software loads fine, but won't get the pics into my hard drive. I git an error message asking for this file: ptpusb.dll from the Windows XP CD ROM which I cannot seem to find. I went to the Microsoft website and can't locate it there either. DO you know a workaround or where I can get this file to download?

you might check your installlation .CAB files for that .dll when you get prompted for the windows cd- send it here instead: C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386 there are also websites that maintain dll files for download shelf life

And just for clarification, if you download the .dll from a website…. It is "installed" by simply copy/paste into the folder C:\windows\System32\ Best Regards
