I unknowingly deleted the program that operates the printer. (photo director) I have the software to re-install the printer but after several attemps it still will not install. I use windows XP. 1100 series all in one printer.
Is that 1100 series printer connected via USB? You must install the Software "before" connecting the printer to your computer. (if usb connect is selected) Turn off your machine and disconnect power to Printer. Unplug the USB connector from the back of the Computer. Reboot your machine and use Control Panel - Add/Remove to uninstall the Printer software Next - Navigate to C:\Program Files\(your1100seriesPrinter\ Delete any remnants inside that folder. Reboot - insert the 1100series Printer software Installation CD - allow it to walk through the installation protocol At some point, the CD Installation will tell you to "make sure your USB printer connector is plugged in and power up your Printer" - do so. At some point it will tell you to reboot your machine to complete the installation. Keep us posted with your progress. Best Regards
