I was on my computer and we had the power go out. Now when I try to connect to the internet - it says there is no dial tone. Have run the troubleshooter for the modem and it says the moden is working properly. Have checked the phone line and it gets a dial tone with the phone. Have tried re-starting the computer - and making a new network connection. When the troubleshooter had me check the port settings - the device manager just gave me a COM 1 and COM 2 -- and a printer port. The properties on my modem say it is connected to COM 3 -- though there is no COM 3 showing on my device manager. Any suggestions to try? Free

Hi, I think a useful starting point would be to reinstall your modem/drivers. When you have done this check in device manager that it is functioning Ok and the correct port has been installed. Regards paws
