Oh, everything's working pretty fine right now. & I actually forgot to mention this earlier, haha! Thanks to your help. What's left is for me to find a proper firewall since the free versions available online seems to conflict with my system. I've attached the script for your review :D.
I'm glad to hear your system is working good again sunjewel. I've attached a file that you can use to cleanup those McAfee registry remnants, they should get that line out of the log. Download the file, unzip it to a convenient location and double click cleanMcAfee.reg to run it and say yes to adding the info to the registry. You can delete cleanMcAfee.reg after you do that. Post a final HJT log after you do that. I'm curious to see if that service line sticks around or not.
Superb! The annoying McAfee entry's gone for good :).

Once again, a great BIG Thanks to rand1038 . Dunno how to thank you enough! Taking the trouble to help users like me..

Best Wishes,
Sunjewel ;)

Your log looks good Sunjewel. Nice job.

You need to get to windows update and get service pack 2 installed. Right now your computer can get infected just by someone sending you a specially made email or if you visit a specially made site. There are allot of those sites and emails out there.

If you have problems downloading SP2 or a slow connection Microsoft will send you a free SP2 cd. On the site it says 2 to 3 weeks for delivery but most people I have talked to receive it within a week.
Here is the link.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa…us/default.mspx

Get that done as soon as you can.

Many of the programs that peoples computers become infected with use vulnerabilities that are discovered in the Windows Operating System. Microsoft issues patches to fix these problems as they are discovered so one of the most important keys to keeping your computer clean is visiting Windows Update on a regular basis.

I recommend you read How did I get infected in the first place and follow Tony's advice. He will tell you about some ways to make your computer more secure and link to some excellent free tools to help with that.
