Ethernet Driver Win2000

Hope this is OK to put here. Can't get connected to internet! I had Hotsurprise on my machine and couldnt get it off so I reformatted the hard drive. I now cant connect with the internet to my cable modem. I have tried to troubleshoot the ethernet card that the computer recognizes but nnnothing. Here are the specs of my machine. Compaq Deskpro 1 Ghz, P-3, 488MB RAM OS: Windows 2000 Professional Graphics: All in Wonder ATA 64MB card. Sound: Stock card Internet connection: LAN? (cable modem) Software: Microsoft Office, ATA bundle for card, Pinnacle 8 movie editor Thanks for any ideas. Monz :ph34r:
