Mouse disconnected and won't work

I was playing a game and accidentally knocked the mouse wire out, now it will not work. Any advice?

Can you provide a little more info, from where did the wire come out, out of the mouse itself or out of the PS/2 port on the back of the computer etc.

To be honest, if my mouse's wire got disconnected from the mouse itself, I'll definitely purchase a new mouse.
