I used to weekly set the levels of the 4 categories in security to default. I just saw there were a lot of entries under restricted which probably means it was doing its job.
Should I leave the levels as they are with entries or should I continue to reset them to default and let them accrue again?
Thank you
Peter
P.S. I am the only user and have no interest in restricted sites so am baffled as to how they got in the restricted section.
I should have said I check those levels during my weekly maintenance. I have a check list which covers both pcs and has come in handy.
Would you leave them the way they have been adjusted during the week or keep them at default?
The reason I am asking is that I don't know their function. For example, if restricted has been changed from default, and when I view the sites, it includes some entries, does that mean I should consider it is doing its job and leave it, or is it wiser to restore default realizing it may have to do it all over again.
I am now using Chrome, in prep for a Chromebook for my wife who is even less skilled than I, Firefox which allows functions that MSIE won't perform such as SnapFish features and MSIE 11 which I like in spite of my having to learn to use it.
I know you use Sea Monkey but I thought you would use MSIE 11 to synchronize and all.
So far Win 8.1 has been carefree and has a lot of speedy features.
I always thought it was a good idea to secure the browser but if it is not used that's another thing.
I read about Sea monkey and it has been around a while. The article was ranking browsers for security and it was not that high. However, I know you know what you are doing with the pc.
