Hello I wanted to stop NVidia from loading at startup because of my 20 programs 6 were NVidia. When I went to msconfig startup it told me to open task manager. When I open it I see only Adobe Reader under startup + it is disabled. This is sort of new to me with Win 8. If I tic the services tab I see the NVidia programs. Would it benefit me to "disable all MS services?" Thank you Peter
No, do not disable any Microsoft Services unless you know what you are doing and what the service affects.

Also, use the Services tab in msconfig instead of the Services tab in Task Manager. Just click the box that says Hide all Microsoft services, then disable the Nvidia ones. None of them are needed.

So if I do this, does this prevent the NVidia programs from loading at startup or, running at all? I suspect it is the latter and that they are not needed for visual performance. Do I untic the box that says Hide all Microsoft Services when done? I had the fear, being a video card, I would not be able to see anything.
NVidia is resolved and I have a better understanding of the features involved. The learning folder is growing as we speak. Thank you for the help.
