Hi
Yesterday i chose to format an older laptop that just stood and so far i remember didn't the wifi work before i formated, but it had worked some time before, so i just thought that it was because it've got so incredible slow that it didn't work.
But now i've used 2 days trying to get it to work without luck. by the way it's a Acer Travelmate 290, and the wifi card is a Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG.
The driver from acers homepage at this model didn't work, it didn't remove the yellow "?" in device manager so i searched and found the card model and downloaded the driver from intels homepage. The new driver removed the yellow "?"
But now i can't find any wireless networks, so i searched around and now i've checked the services and event log is set to automatic and wireless zero configuration is started.
So at last i've tried installing ubuntu and in there i could find my wireless internet but i couldn't connect to it.
and wired internet works just fine
so what could be wrong?
