When i bought my pc i was a silly boy and did not make a back up disk?!?!? Maybe this is because i was used to having pc's with a disk supplied with them and the manufactureers do not seem to supply this anymore, its all built into the pc. Anyhow i am having problems when going onto the internet. The following message appears every time on I.E. start up! 'A programme on yur pc has corrupted your default search settings for internet explorer, IE has reset this to your default search provider, google, IE will now open search settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers'. Then you click OK and this takes you to a 'manage add ons'. window. This really fustrating as it happens every time. I have google'd the issue and seems a common problem on windows 7 and i have tried to fix the problem through advice to no avail. It seems one needs to create a new profile and delete existing profiles to rid the problem but i am confused as to how to do this and get access to documents and programmes after doing this, i.e. seem not to have permission to access many things when i have tried? Once i have got over this problem i then wish to clean my pc back to its roots, even if this means deleting a lot of programmes installed and registry. Basically i want to start again / go back to the default shop bought pc so that i can create a decent back up disk. Can anyone help me throught the process, i would be very appreciative. Steve Higgins
I have decided to reset my OS to factory set conditions and start again so will not need any further help on this one . Thanks
