My internet / network connection was working fine and all of the sudden stopped (don't you just love these scenarios) It is connected as it says Speed 54.0 Mbps, Signal Strength Excellent, IP and Subnet are listed HOWEVER, there is no info for Default Gateway, DNS Server or WINS Server. Any ideas? I am totally and completely stumped! Thanks in advance Cindy
How long has this been happening? I guess you have already tried rebooting your system, resetting your router and your modem (if you have one)? This fixes a lot of those sudden scenarios. Please let us know if that did not help.
Hi John, Yes, I tried re-booting PC, resetting modem, disconnecting, re-connecting…. all the 'basic' stuff. I noticed today that when I click on details for Ltd Conn it says 'This problem occured because the Network didnot assign a Network address to the computer.' I'm baffled! :pullhair:
Open a Command Prompt (click on Start then Run, type cmd and press Enter).

Enter ipconfig /release and press Enter, then ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

Right click on the command prompt window title bar, select Edit then Mark
Use the mouse to select all the output from the ipconfig /renew command, them click the right mouse button. This will copy the data to the clipboard.
