Hello everyone. I seem to be having problems with my computer (runs on Windows Vista) for it cannot connect to the internet. I use a wired network so there are no wireless problems here. Anyway, the problem started yesturday, cruising the internet then all of the sudden, the network symbol ( 2 Monitors and a globe) suddelny put up the little yellow triangle saying " Currently connected to Unidentified network Access: Limited Connection". Messenger also started saying "Default Gateway is offline". Clicked Repair but nothing happened, just said there is still a problem. I tried to Diagnose and Repair but Windows cannot find the problem and tells me to contact my Internet Provider. However both my Labtop ( runs on Windows XP ) and Xbox 360 have had no problem getting internet off the network. I have tried numerous attempts to fix the problem; Restart modem, plug out plug back in ethernet, switch around cables, did a system restore, turned off firewalls, disabled then enabled the network card. Still no luck. Anyway, I really need help so please anyone got some ideas on how to fix this.
Try uninstalling the Network Adapter from Device Manager, then reboot, let Vista rediscover it and reload the drivers, see if that helps.

Click on Start then Run, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter
Expand Network Adapter, right click on your network device and select Uninstall
Reboot and see if that helps.

Ztrucker, Thanks for your help. To give you some history: I have been pirating my internet for the past 4 years from 3 reliable networks in my hood. Recenlty I can't access any of them due to my "default gateway" being off. Now this happened strangely. I was using the connection when it stopped working on all 3, after trying to figure out what happened all 3 came back with limited connection/ or full connection but my "default gateway" is offline for all 3. I followed your instructions and unistalled then reinstalled and nothing. I've turned off the internet protocol version 6, link-layer topology dicovery mapper I/O driver and link -layer topology discovery responder which some people have said might be the cause and a solution. Recenlty (today) I read on the microsoft website that i need to download a new service pack. So tonight I will be trying that. Any other suggestions would be most welcomed. Kapps
