Well, let me be the first to say Hi and welcome you to the WTT Forums!
As for your previous Malware issue, it would help if you could give us the link to that topic so we can make sure that the person helping you was completely finished before we start giving you our assistance. We do not want to interfere with anything that Charlie may still be doing.
As for the problem at hand, assuming your system is clean, a re-install is a good idea but you can get the most help by simply googling something like…
IE 8 memory bug
Or even using the error number…
IE 8 04171f9d
Others may post with better help too, this is simply my quick-suggestion. Also, while your waiting for further help, please be sure to give us a link to your old Malware topic.
Oh, and for future reference, a better place for this topic would have been the Browser, Internet and E-mail Board, it always helps to post in the correct place. It's ok though as everyone makes mistakes, a moderator will most likely move this to the correct Board for you.
Hello B.Fighter. It appears you are using Yahoo! Toolbar which is known to cause the described issue. Please uninstall it and see if the problem persists.
Let us know how it goes though. Good Luck.

Hello,
Is there any particular reason for using IE 8.0? I am still using IE 6.0 which is a wonderful version of IE. Sometimes the latest is not always the best and with my little experience over several forums IE 8 is not the browser to have if you want stable internet surfing……
Of course it is your choice, I am just curious why IE 8.
kind regards,
Uninstall it from Add/Remove programs. That should clear up the problem. Then if you feel the need to run beta software, you can download and install it again. Probably a good idea to reboot between the uninstall and reinstall.
