recently the internet on my laptop computer has stopped working, often accompanied by a spike in CPU usage. Anything i type into the browser turns into http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&clcid=0x409%pver=6.0&ar=home and then just sits there as a blank screen. when i go to internet options it tells me that i cant change that and that i should contact the system administrator, though i thought that that was me. before the net stopped working i infrequently got popups for pantomi and registry defender software. Unfortunately, as the internet doesnt work, i cant post a hijackthis log into the forum, unless you have some idea on how to get it too my desktop computer. Please, anything you can think of to help is much appreciated.

Hi ajhof792,
Sorry about the very late reply.
by now you have probably solved your problem.
If not...
Since you were able to post your question, it appears that you must have access to a second working computer.
Download HJT installer to that second machine.
http://forums.whatth...ers_t34502.html
Copy it to CD or USB memory.
Transfer, install and run on the infected machine.
Save the HJT Log to USB or burn to CD for upload from your second functional machine.
Post a New Topic for assistance in the Malware Removal Forum.

I hope you've actually already got it fixed.
And I wish you a Happy Holiday,
Doug
