Hello If a product refuses to install b/c the validation has been maximized, can you call M.S. to get it activated? I want to reinstall an o.s. Do you have the M/S. phone # for validation? Thank you
Hello, If you check the option to activate by phone the phone number for you to call will be given at that time. Microsoft will most likely allow you to activate it by phone as long as you state that this is the only computer that it is installed on.
I have done it many times, but you should have been given the opportunity to do it on-line first. Then provided a phone number to call, along with a monster number to read off. It usually takes about 30 seconds. But, you need a legitimate reason for installing this copy again, and installing this copy on a different computer is not one of them, ESPECIALLY if that copy of Windows came with a pre-made computer, such as a Dell or HP.
I did not know this. I am going to play by the rules and remove '07' from my pc . I'm ok with this as '07 is too much for me and now I can install just Word with '03 I will also inform my daughter. And yes, we both have Dells with Windows o.s. Thank you for clarifying this for us. P.S. Is Office '03'(Word) ok re support + security? :wavey:
I use Office 2003 with no problems. Of course I take the precaution of using a limited account instead of the Administrator account unless I am installing some thing.

Way to go, HFCG!
I have both my machine, and my wifes machine set up this way. Of course Vista makes it easy as I just have to enter the Admin password, but I have yet to (knock on wood) get infected.
You mention the word infected. Yesterday, for the second time in about 8 years, I got a trojan JS/FakeAlert-AB.dldr. I used Kersperky's scanner, Windows DEfender, and Mcafee to scan. Nothing detected as it was in quarantine. Mcafee had quarantined it and I called them to clean it. At first they said they were unaware of it but wanted me to pay $96 to remove it with their special team. I went to restore in my security center and removed it. I am telling as many as possible b/c as I googled it, so many people were trying to clean it. Hope this helps someone.
