Cant access mcafee anti-virus or cd rom/dvd rom

Please help! I'm having trouble accessing mc afee antivirus. every time i click on the icon, mcafee refuses to load! i tried to uninstall/reinstall mcafee but i get an error message stating that no cd rom drives can be found. please help because i have no idea whats going on!
