Hi ,

my computer could not start in safe mode. The selection screen does appear when i press F8 button and i can make the selection

to start in safe mode. Upon doing so, it will refresh the screen then list out some plenty files with .sys extension. It stopped at a

particular BTHidmgr.sys file and no more progress from there. Even after waiting for 10 minutes it is still showing the same thing.

The desktop however still can start as normal mode without fail. I found this out because i have a problem accessing my newly

bought Toshiba 2G TransMemory flash drive. Although XP detects it as a new hardware, I was prompted to find a an installation

software for it. I tried the same flash drive on other XP computers in my office and they worked fine. I called local tech support for HP

and upon encountering the ' safe mode' problem, he told me to do easy restore. Is there another way around this? Here's my HJT

HJT just in case if you need it. Btw my external HD and gaming controller works fine on the same USB port.

Hello ryan_to, We do not analise HJT logs here on this forum. I notice your last HJT log was posted and your system cleaned in early September. You will now need to decide whether you want help in this forum or again post your log in the correct forum. Please post back and let us know what you decide to do. kind regards,
Hi Tallin, lets just look into what might have caused my computer not able to start in safe mode and and how come my windows XP could not open access my flash drive. As for the HJT log we will not use it then.
