DVD totally not working after malware attack

It could be that some drivers are missing/affected by either the malware or the removal.

If you have a Windows CD, you could try and repair those.

Goto start–>Run–>type: SFC /Scannow (Notice the space between C and / )
Be ready to pop the CD in if it ask for it. If you only have the DVD drive, you have to borrow / get another one for this to work.

The scan will attempt to repair/replace any file that is missing or damaged. It won't produce a log, so you need to check if the DVD is working correctly after.

If it doesn't, you might have to look up the webpage for your DVD drive, and get the drivers needed from there.
