If you get a danish texted page(i'm from Denmark), google 0x0000007E and the first two options should lead to support.microsoft.com pages.
Read the page. Under cause, see if there is anything you can nod yes to.
Report back, and we'll try take it from there.
Edit: Looks like Digerati beat me by a minute

Hi, there is plenty of available HD capacity and I haven't added any new hardware … the only thing that has been happening is that one of your guys LDTate has helped me clear egodktf toobar and popups using Combofix - could there be any side effects?
Sorry I can't be of more help to you.
Regards,
I don't know if Combofix can make that sort of trouble, i'll leave that question to someone who knows that better than me.
Now, if I assume it could be possible, I would like you to get hold of your windows CD.
Go to start –> Run –> Write: SFC /scannow (Notice the space between C and / )
If it ask for your CD, pop it in.
This scan can take a while, just let it finish. It won't make a log, so you have to test it by leaving your pc on and see if the problem still exists. The scan will look for damaged and/or missing files, and automatically try to replace such.
Report back, and tell me how it went.
Kind regards Abydos

The first scan covered about 80% and then crashed … surprised it lasted that long … tried again in the hope that it may start from where it left off - to no avail … it covered 50% of the scan before crashing.
Hi Declan
Does the problem exist in safe mode aswell??
If not, then run the scan from there.
To enter safe mode, you need to reboot your machine, hit F8 after the first bios screen, keep tabbing it till you reach the black boot screen.
Choose safe mode without network.
Kind regards Abydos
Hi, the scan doesn't run in Safe Mode.
Sorry about harping on about my prev prob (egodktf, popups), but, is there a virus? out there which can fool the system into thinking there is a serious problem?
Don't understand why Blue Screen after a period of minutes, and not immediate on boot up.
Thank you,

Thank you,
found Trojan Horse Downloader.Zlob.sx when running AVG - not sure what effect that will have, if any … will let you know.
With that new found infection, I would recommend you posted another HJT-log here
It can have everything to do with your current problems. A trojan rarely comes alone, and if it does, most are cabable of downloading more malicious infections onto your pc.
If you still have the problem afterwards, youre welcome to come back to this thread.
Kind regards Abydos

I have reposted HJT.
