It is a fine point whether Spybot, Adaware etc use their own system restore point or if they create one on Windows system restore. I ask about the difference so I'll know whether to enable this feature on these programs or not.
Thank you
Hello Grampy,
No difference, they just create a restore point in Windows System Restore prior to the fixing/removal of items found in the scans. After completing a scan and fix, if you encounter any problems, you can just use Windows System Restore to go back to the point before the items were removed.

I understand and thank you for your help.
Btw, when I click on your notification link in my in box, it takes me to What the Tech main page but then I do a search to find the post. An easier way for me is to respond to your notification link, sign in,minimize that screen, then go back to my mail page and click on the link agin -this way it brings me to the post.
Am going around the mulberry bush here? Perhaps you have a more simplistic way to recognizing your post when notified.
Thank you
Clicking this link does get me directly to the thread and even to the point of the new post. What happens is that when you try to reply to the message, you have to login again. The login process should bring you back to where you originally started, but it doesn't. This is a known issue and is on the slate of issues to be resolved. Any workaround that you can perform up until that point would be advisable.
Thank you for keeping me updated -this is a great forum and am happy with it as is.
1-notified,2-login,3-minmize screen ,4-click on link =right to post.
I know you will do better than my clumsy workaround but I don't have the resources to even imagine how to help.
Good luck +regards,
