system restore

A lot of people are saying to do a system restore to take care of some spy ware problems & other problems before running a highjackthis log . i read that you never do a system restore until you have run & cleaned up your log ! because a bad system restore point is better than no restore point if something goes wrong with a fix ! so i need some advice on this restore problem, when to do it !! thanks & STAY SAFE and i have googled it & read but still want your answer please !!

Ok.. I hope those were not techs, in real life, that told you that. System Restore is not, and should not be thought of, as a utility. Its a "last ditch" effort and not something you want to use like you would say…disk cleanup.. or defrag. Some virus' write thereselves into your restore actually. Also important here is that running Hijack this will not affect your system either way, its simply a tool to use to find "baddies" … so to speak. Go ahead scan and post the log in the " Hijack This logs and spyware/malware removal forum " into a new thread.
