I have been having a lot of problems accessing web pages lately. Seems to have begun after the uninstall of System Mechanic 7 Pro, but may just be a coincidence.

I have 2.5 GB ram and this thing seems very slow flipping pages. I have done disk cleanup, empty caches, run various clean ups, spyware etc.

The message I get when using IE is

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
• You are not connected to the Internet.
• The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:

More Information

The messages I get from outlook express when trying to access my email is:

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop-server.ne.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.ne.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server [removed] ([removed]:110), connect error 10060', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

The email access is better so it may have been a RR problem, (although I could still receive my email through their webmail).
My log:

Thanks everyone!!!
Howdy xtaski,

Welcome to WTT. Not sure if the email access and web page issues are tied together. I see you have been using RR support from their software running here, but the error matches this suggestion of a password problem primarily. Although not RR follow through the steps from Tiscali and see if that improves the email issue.

The log shows some ActiveX installs from Coupons Inc. and E-centives, which are considered as undesirable items, but here have already been accessed. let's take some additional looks of things and see what we can do.

Close Internet Explorer and all running programs and run a scan in HijackThis. Place a check next to all of the following lines, then select “Fix Checked” and close HijackThis.

O16 - DPF: {A7EA8AD2-287F-11D3-B120-006008C39542} (CBSTIEPrint Class) - http://offers.e-centives.com/cif/download/bin/actxcab.cab

Then Download : HostsXpert, and have it ready for use.

Run HostsXpert. Press the "Restore MS Hosts File" button and then press the OK button. This will return the original Hosts file if some undesirable action has altered it.

Go Here and download ATF cleaner. Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected (and close ATF).

If you have them, also click on Firefox/Opera at the top and repeat the steps (and close ATF). Firefox/Opera will need to be closed first for the cleaning to be effective.

Then go here for an online AV scan (requires IE to run).

Scan "Local Disks" and when finished save the scan log and then post the log here.

Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here along with the Panda log please.
