It's very annoying.. while surfing the net i frequently get this poup saying:
"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.:
Please help me out…
Also, please run the PC Pitstop Full Tests and post a TechExpress link here so we can determine your system setup. You'll need to set up an account to save the results.
Thanks for the TechExpress link, you did a fine job getting it posted correctly. Try going to Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools and clicking Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). See if you have any issues with this.
I have been reading about your problem and wonder if you want to really stay with IE 7.0. I have helped with this same problem many times - mainly with my friends and have advised them to roll back to IE 6.0 HERE This they have done and encountered no further problem. If you do roll back to IE 6.0 be sure to set your Microsoft Updates to "Notify me but do not automatically download and install" option so you don't get landed with IE 7.0 installed again. To do this go to start>settings>controlpanel>automaticupdates>then put a dot in the option you require. I hope this helps.
Interestingly as I was typing this reply to you, a member of my family was reading my reply to you over my shoulder and said it was the exact problem he was having with IE 7.0 He has just rolled back to IE 6.0 as a result and had no further problems either.
I would suggest you install an antivirus program ASAP. Completely update the virus definitions and run a full system scan. I prefer using Antivir (link in my sig) as it has the best detection ratings of all the free antivirus programs. You can also use Avast! or AVG as well (especially if you want an email scanner).
Next would be to install Spybot - Search & Destroy (link in my sig). Update the definitions and run a full system scan. Do the same with Ad-Aware (link in my sig, the download is a big green button on the right side of the page).
After you are finished with these and if you still have issues, read through all the pinned topics and post a thread in the following forum: HijackThis™ Logs and Infections Removal
Once you are declared clean, we can continue here again if we need to.
