All right so a little while ago, I was having problems with my hdd and DVD RW drive not being detected and so on and so fourth. IF the IDE cable was plugged in, it had no power. Without the ide cable, it powered up. I resovled the issue by putting a new IDE cable in for my hdd, but the dvd is still doing the same thing. I just today started getting this error after about 5 minutes of it being on (logged on or not) Problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, follow these steps. Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x806FF94F, 0xB59E33C8, 0x00000000) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance. My specs are : ECS N2U-400A AMD Athlon 2500+ ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 2 GB Duel Channel RAM 120gb Western Digital hdd
H, Sorry to hear of the problem with your machine. 1 I assume that you have carried out the recommendations detailed in the error message? 2 This error message can also be caused by a RAM error, have you replaced/added any memory recently, have you run a memory test? 3 If you still have a problem then the normal repair protocol is to: 4 Replace DVD IDE cable, reboot and see how you go 5 Uninstall completely all DVD burning software, run the Microsoft Installer clean up tool, then do a disc clean up and a defrag, reboot and see how you go. 6 Repeat step 5 with the DVD drive physically disconnected from the machine and see how you go. In the workshop we usually check out the DVD by fitting it temporarily to a known good working machine Hope you get it fixed up OK, but please post back here if you are still having problems after trying all the above. Regards paws
Well for whatever reason its working now with periodic blue screens.. So far all the blue screens are there but theres no writing on it – No error codes, no "Contact System Administrator"
