After Installing Application Computer Won't Restart

Hi, I have a situation with my computer. Everytime I install an application in my computer that requires me to restart my computer, the computer turns off but when it turns back on it just stay in the black screen but does not recognize anything else or do anything else until I manually hit the shut down button and start it up again. When the computer reboots the icon that is suppose to come out in the desktop does not come out but the application is saved in program fils folder. What can be happening to my computer that will not boot up after an application requires it to?

Hello there Are you saying this happens after every time you install an application? Or is it a certain application? Two things i can say, and they are: 1) Maybe the application isn't compatable with your operating system? 2) Are you using genuine applications and not illegal downloaded applications? Let me know

this only occurs with the applications that request a reboot and i believe these applications are genuine because they are just softwares to connect to other servers for the company i work for.

Sounds like it could be a compatability issue. What operating system are you running? E.g Windows 98, XP etc. And do you know if the software works with 98, or XP or whatever operating system you have?
