I just read about this Tom Coyote site in PC Mag article posted on here a few hrs ago.. I knew something has been wrong with my computer for few months now,, Its been slower,, & acting wierd.. But I have Macaffee Security suite, and periodically I'd check & it said I was covered, etc.. I also had AVG for back up,, and AVG notified me several times in past 2 weeks,, of trojans,, and I hit the heal key and it said they were healed/fixed.. Anyways, still computer slow, freezing up, etc.. I have dsl,, and there was no problem with the service.. So the article recommended Tom Coyote site for free spy removal, or so I thought thats what it meant.. So I googled the name,, and got this site,, and saw an ad saying EasySpyRemover,, & I thought it was the one the magazine was recommending for free. So I clicked on it for a scan it took 2 hrs, ,and it found 13 infections,, 2 were trojans, & rest were cookies. So, I clicked on the remove option, but it froze and wouldn't work,, and then their page popped up for the charges.. 29.99 a one time fee, and some other options.. Anyways,, even tho I thought it was supposed to be free, I gave my credit card and paid.. Then went back and tried to click t he remove option again,, but it still would not work.. I think its becuz one of teh trojans is blocking it somehow,, As,, a lot of sites I try to go to sometimes,, I can't access them, Its like someone else is in control of my computer.. My windows defender got disabled long time ago, & I don't know how that happened either.. & Whats even worse,, Last week I found out I was a victim of identity theft,, and someone had been using my credit cards to order stuff online,, so I had to cancel my cards, etc.. and bought a green dot card where you can put money on it & it works like a credit card, so I didn't uses any more credit info online til I get my system secured again.. Anyways,, now I have paid the 29.99, and still cannot get the easySpyRemover program to work to remove the items,, and they said they get back to you with in an hour when you email with a problem,, Its been 2 hrs now and they have not gotten back with me,, and I want to cancel the service,, but I still don't know how to get rid of these trojans.. I did go to one of the locations where trojan was,, named Vb.akv & infection type is Regkey (I'm thinkiong thats probably something where they can gfollow everywhere I go on internet,, including my credit card account sites? The trojan location was in HKCU\software\microsoft\ms setup (ACME) .. I don't knwo what it means,, but I just deleted the whole file,, but its in the garbage bin if I need to retrieve it.. I was afraid to do anything else with the others,, cuz didn't know what I was doing.. Now, I just want to get a refund from EasySpyRemover, since it has Not been easy, & has not worked, and they have not gotten back with me as they claimed. So what is best spyware companies to trust? I definately am getting rid of macaffee, and I just want something trustworthy and easy to use. Can anybody give me some advice really quickly.. I want to get these trojans, and bad cookies, etc offf my computer and make it clean again... & feel safe that my identity & banking & credit cards, info etc will not get stolen again. Thanks for your help!!!! Glad I found this site.. Wish I'd found it sooner! addyme

Welcome to Tom Coyote. EasySpyRemover is not a recommended program and I doubt you can get your money back, you should try contacting them and try. I would just say goodbye to old rubbish and uninstall it via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Please do not download anymore spyware removal programs , after we deem your system is free of malware I will give you links to FREE programs to install to help keep you secure.

I really can't help you until I see a HJT log, so do this.
  • Use the link above or the links in my signature to download HJT 1.99.1 setup to your desktop
  • Double Click on the Setup icon and by defaut it will unzip to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis
  • Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
  • Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread.
  • Please use Posted Imageand not Posted Image
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
