:wall: :wall: :wall: Hi everyone. Just joined, happy to have found you.

Earlier today everything was running normal, then i went out and when I sat back down at the computer, the internet performance was gone mental. :rant2:

Pages are loading "very" slow, that is if they load at all, and when one does load, if I go to check something in another window they both stop working totally. I don't usually ever keep more than two windows open at the same time, mostly just one.
I did some trojan scans both online and with my own programs, as well as virus checks using different programs once again (I only have one installed though - I am talking about my own & online) and nothing came up.

I'm using the latest macfee (virus, privacy and firewall), although I hate their program, I'm still protected. Below is my log. Please let me know if you see anything wrong that I can get rid of.

Oh ya, I tried a million times to run the full tests at pitstop, but even they wouldn't work. They actually put up some error messages, which I'll have to go back to copy for you if you want. I'll go do it now anyhow. thanx guys, victoria :wavey:

Hello Victoria, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help please follow these directions. First we have a nasty item and I will share the information, here is what it looks like:

O2 - BHO: DownloadRedirect Class - {00000000-6CB0-410C-8C3D-8FA8D2011D0A} - C:\Program Files\iMesh\iMesh5\iMeshBHO.dll
http://castlecops.com/clsid-1282.html Here are instructions for removing it:
http://www.spyany.com/program/article_spw_rm_IMesh.html
Follow the instructions and then I will look to make sure it is all gone from your log and computer. Now once that is done, we need to look at some optional removals of junk which is on your computer. Take a look at the list and if you will agree with me, I will remove this, if you see something you do not wish removed, pass over it. If the above removal proceedures do the job, the first imesh line may be gone if not check it also.

Scan with HijackThis and put a check in the box in front of each line item:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click "Fix Checked"
Clean Like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Check and remove anything windows locates. Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Post a new log, include your comments. Stay in this same thread.

Once you are all clean you should have no problem running your diagnostic at PCPitStop. If you do, here is the address to the free PCPitStop forum. Register and post and they will help you with these issues:

:weee: Hey thanx for the great welcome and reply. Now…considering we can only learn by asking questions, I have a couple for you before I go ahead.

I should tell you first that I am already a member at "the Pit" and your right about them helping over there,,,seems just as friendly here! ;)

here goes the questions:

1.) Is the eBay Toolbar junk? I never really checked into it to be honest. I just grabbed it right away one night when I was extremely determined to outbid some woman. (it gives you constant updates on the other bidders :P )
I've got no problem getting rid of it though if you think it's best.

2.) Now I've always pretty much known about P2P program garbage, however, compared to some other ones, it seems to have alot less and I haven't really gotten any major problems from it as far as I know. I mostly use WINMX though.

Is there anyway to "only" remove this (below) without removing the actual program? Probably not, but I'll ask anyway.
(BHO: DownloadRedirect Class - {00000000-6CB0-410C-8C3D-8FA8D2011D0A} - C:\Program Files\iMesh\iMesh5\iMeshBHO.dll)

3.) Gamesmania is a service I pay for mthly to my previous ISP (bell canada [before falling in love with cable connection]) and it has lots of the games the kids, and I love - as in, not crappy free download type games. Rather not get rid of that. Do you know something about Gamesmania that I don't?

Don't you wish I would just shut up now?

4.) TuneUp Utilities - will removing the application data (like you said) in documents and settings still allow me to use the program? I really like it. Takes up lots of memory though.

5.) LAST ONE, I SWEAR!!

Extra context menu item: &Add animation to IncrediMail Style Box - C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\bin\resources\WebMenuImg.htm
Are you saying NOT to use Incredimail?

Sorry about all the ???

I'll watch for your reply, and appreciate it, victoria
Hi Victoria, Will try to answer your questions by using the number instead of copying all the quotes except this one:

I should tell you first that I am already a member at "the Pit" and your right about them helping over there,,,seems just as friendly here!

Yep, been a member for a while myself and have used the service for many years. I could not see anything that should stop you from using the service, that is why I suggested the contact. I also remove the old cab file to allow a new download (DPF) in case that was the problem.

1) I could not get a malware reading, and checked several reputable websites, some removed it some did not. This is why I gave you the option. But…I was looking for anything that might be the source of your problem.

2) Here is some good information: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/
You saw what CastleCops had to say: Certified spyware/foistware, or other malware to my knowledge there is no other way. I would not have it on my computer.

3) No I do not, when looking for reasons we often remove ALL DPF because these are a real source of drive by shootings: http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,…i887624,00.html I have a tool that identifies hostile ActiveX controls but do not have the time to check all of the others, so I remove them if I am not sure, knowing if they are valid they will be put back the next time you visit the site if you agree to it when prompted, and once again, I gave you the option of passing over these items.

4) Can't say that for sure, which is why I gave you the option of passing the item. One of your original complaints was slow pages, I was looking for any excess that might speed up your page loading short of more RAM or a new computer…lol.

5) No, I am not saying that at all, but I will say Incredimail is a great resource waster. I remove it for folks every chance I get.

Hope this helps
Thanks…pskelley

B) You know what? I'm going to have to agree with you on the Incredimail thing. It really is a waste of resources when I think of it. LMAO…and come to think of it, I just installed it the other day, so I wonder if that's not "ONE" of the things that's giving me problems. Something to think about. I have really bad pneumonia so I can't sit on this computer anymore tonight. I will return tomorrow to read over once more. Believe it or not, my pc is already working a bit faster than b4. I'll try pitstop tomorrow too. take care, vic
