On my computer the clock is set to like military time. For example, it shows like 14:00 . I would like to change it to regular time. Someone please help me it's really annoying! Thank you in advance.
Try going to Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - First page is Regional Options - there is a little window with United States written in it - next to that is a "customize" button, click that and you will get tabs Numbers, Currency, Time, Date. If you click on Time, the top setting will allow you to change the format the time is in. Easy-shmeezy!
Hi Brandy 2006,

Juliane is right on target with the recommendation.

"small case" "h" is for 12hr (US time) "Capital Letter case" "H" is for 24hr "military" style time
Your present setting is probably using "H" for "military time" style
Change "H" to "h"

h:mm:ss tt

You'll also have to change

AM symbol to: AM
PM symbol to: PM

Both entries are probably "hrs" presently in conformance with the 24hr "military" time style
Dough! Just in the "nick of time!" hahahahahahaha - and even more detailed information than I gave. The setting is not that clear, I was expecting to see a "military time" setting but Nooooo, not MS! LOL.
Thank you, it worked! But there's still one little peoblem. When I right-click on the time thing on my desktop, on the south-left corner, where it says Current Time Zone, it says Eastern Standard Time and the time is one hour behind. And when I check on my LAPTOP, It says Eastern Daylight Time and the time is right. Is there any way to change that? Help would be appreciated, thank you!
Check for MS Updates. They came out with a "fix" for the earlier than usual onset of "daylight savings time". If you haven't comleted updates on that particular machine, it won't shift to "daylight savings time" for another couple of weeks. If that is OK with you……… just leave it. If you don't want to do the MS Updates, you can simply adjust the time ahead one hour, manually. (but remember it would be a good idea to keep your operating system updated)
Okay, thank you all and you may now close this topic. PS: dough, I'm going to wait until the daylight savings fix gets into my computer. I'll just put my clock a hour ahead manually.
