IE icons for all files on DVD/CD; why?

PLease help; I have a dell laptop and when I insert a CD or DVD and explore the drive all the icons look like an internet explorer icon. The files work ok and the file assosiations are correct. Can anyone help with the reason and the fix?

When you see the files right click one of them, then click properties, then click "change" in the opens with information and look for the programme you want to make it open with, then click apply and then OK.

The file associations are correct and they open with the correct programs; its just the icons that are all the same? All IE; I have asked tsh IT guy at woek but he has not seen this before either! Any other surgestions?
