Everytime I try to download SP2 from Window Update it says that the download was succesful. When I scan again it tells me to download SP2. And my computer does not say that SP2 is installed.Can someone help me please!
You mention you downloaded SP2 but how did you download it, did you choose to open or save the file when prompted ?
Once you start the installation of SP2 you cant miss it. It will first run a validation check proir to installation, the installation itself will take around 15-20 mins if i remember correctly, its quite a major upgrade to the operating system.
Just remember to double check that no malware is present on the computer prior to installation otherwise the problem will be magnified.
It didn't say to open or save. It just shows a window saying download and then it says that the installation is complete. It doesn't even tell me to restart! Also, when I try to update some other thing it says update complete, but when I scan again it tells me to install the same thing.
MS Updates/Downloads always thinks it knows more than the owner/user, even when it bungles the automated job.
You may enjoy gaining more control by using this alternate MS site to obtain SP2.
The download is the same full content, you just get to be in charge of it, instead of automating it.
