My Dell was infected by the Sasser virus while I was working in WordPefect 10 (Office 2000). I have followed all the instructions for removing the virus and my computer is still functioning poorly -- my screensaver locks, Outlook and Internet are slow to come up. I have adjusted the settings to Norton Antivirus and it helped some (I actually removed it because after running the Live Update it seemed to cause even more problems). I have contacted Alltel, my DSL and internet provider. They were of some help at first, but now not so much. I have also used the suggestions given to me by Mr. Coyote. like running Housecall and Spybot. I still cannot get WordPerfect to come up. The window starts and then just hangs there. I had Norton Antivirus but it seemed to be causing problems too, so I removed it. I don't know what else to do at this point.

If you use System Restore, make sure to get all of your critical Windows updates afterwards.
