Very annoying issue

I first noticed that my AIM would disconnect and reconnect like every 6 minutes.... i switched to MSN messager and the same thing occurs....i noticed that when this happens my internet connection stops brifly as well......its not my ISP our my router, because this computer has been doing this at 3 different locations that are horribly far apart.....any suggestions?
