I apologize that this is a stupid question. Windows Updates is prompting me to download security fixes. As a home user, do I need .NET Framework?
Hi Lilybell,

That is not a stupid question, we all have to learn.

Yesterday I updated my Windows Microsoft Updates all nine of them. Yes you do need .net Framework 2.0 plus the update offered. I hope you don't have the problems that many are having with this update. If you do go to the following site and you will see you are not alone with your problems. Good luck.

some of the programs you have installed may depend on .net framework. If it is installed you probably have a program that needs it. It is good practice to let microsoft install all critical updates(even if they can cause problems on occasion).
