outlook and backing up contacts to a cd

i have tried backing up my outlook contacts to a cd but the program wont let me. i go to file and then export and i choose to export to theD: drive. but i am told i cant. does anyone know how to do it. i have gone on the net and gotten advice but it never works.

Let it Export to a folder on your hard drive, then save that folder to a CD. When you decide to restore it (import), copy it back to your hard drive and import from that locatin.
