Kept getting pop-ups that actually look like legitimate Verizon programs but they definately are not. One wanted to scan the PC for problems, or so it stated. This PC with WindowsME and 512mb of memory belongs to a friends daughter and when they brought it to me so I could make it usable again, AVG resident shield was turned off and could not be turned back on, Spybot had been disabled and Ad-Aware was about half a year out of date.
I thought the problem was solved after getting all the "protection" programs running, up to date and in full swing, but the PC acts VERY sluggish and freezes for about 30 seconds for no apparent reason.
Vundo was one of the problems in the PC.
Spybot immunization works on all but 6 items. It keeps saying 6 more immunizations possible but will not immunize the sytem for those 6 items.
Please pardon my wordy post. This is my first attempt at using Hijack THis and I hope I can get some help from you. I would very much appreciate it and lord knows I can use your help.
