Well… You dont have enough ram in the first place to run XP.. that combined with SP2 … your lobal to never "find" the problem. So really, at this juncture, its pointless to continue trying to trace down anything. You need to get you some ram (make sure it is the EXACT same type ram if your going to add ram…i.e.if you running PC133 .. add PC133)
Hi again guy`s.Thanks for your patience…..Anyway ive run the tests but am not entirely sure how to get the resuts over to here………….
Am i supposed to send them via e-mail and if so …WHERE.
The only probs i have is memory(i know,i know…..This was bought WITH the mem it`s got) and it seems IE`s cache size is a problem(never use IE..except now)
Anyway if you could spell out getting these results over………Until somethings "STAMPED" on my head it wont register.SORRY guys
Ive also noticed that the "running programs" highlights a "realteak" which it goes on to advise disabling….
SORRY never noticed that last post crow.YES im already seeing to that and should have it by tommorow.
As i said this pc was bought new as it is (no sp2) by my mother in law back in 92/93
I`ll get back as soon as ive done sorted the ram………..(you could still tell me how to get those results over for future ref if you dont need them now)
Hi again………..i could`nt see the link for looking at it eh!
Well i was back inside this thing checking something and noticed that the stick of ram already in here says on it 256mb……BUT,then i have it saying 224mb when i right click my pc and look in the propertys.
Weird eh…..im still getting more but i wont manage it till next week it seems(kids leaving me skint going on hols)
Ive stuck that link here if you want to tell me everything else on it that needs replaced(the lot).
And i persevered with the proper realtek one and it just does the same as the other…..might work but will go off at some point…
obviously i still probably need the ram but im really not sure THATS whats causing this problem????????
