I don't see it active in the log.

But, it won't hurt to run the "fix".

It wil find any "suspect" files for us.

Please download FixWareout from one of these links:
Fixwareout.exe
Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your Desktop.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

* Run fixwareout on the desktop.
* Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
* The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
* You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
* Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
* Once the desktop loads a text will open (report.txt). We'll need that in a bit.

"Copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread.

Also open this file with Notepad:

C:\fixwareout\report.txt

And paste it's contents into your next post.

Well, I've been browsing through folders ad nauseam since that last fixwareout fix, and so far I haven't been able to make explorer.exe crash. I'm not getting my hopes too high, but so far it seems the problem may finally, at long last, be resolved. Now I just have to further secure my PC to prevent another infection in the future. Thank you so much for all the help Micah_6:8 and dough. It's truly appreciated.

How'd you get infected again Bob?
Just when you think all is going great…bamb..you get hit again :rant2:

Well said.

So here I am thinking my problems are at long last over, and I go to reboot. Now every time I reboot, drwtsn.exe is running at startup, and is crashed, dumprep is also active and taking up 100% CPU. After ending both processes, I can finally use windows. Then I fire up Firefox, and all my bookmarks are gone, along with all the settings, and settings for my extensions/themes. Not just that, but they are like that every time I open firefox… I even get prompted to change the settings every time and it never takes. I think at this point I'll just be backing up important files and reformating. Though I learned alot in this painful process, it just isn't proving to be worth the effort.
