It started with adobe but mostly it happens when I try to go to windows explorer. I get the title var at top and a white blank page with the hourglass. I can't close the program at first..then I can by right clicking it on the taskbar..then my taskbar disappears and I can't shut down. I have to power down. Then I have to do a sytem restore or I can never get into windows explorer ..I also have to run norton just once in safe mode. It hangs on sytem file 114(?) and never moves off it here is my logfile. I hope someone can help me.

oh if you need more info please just ask.

on a side note…I hope I'm not in trouble but I read about the "hiddeniconshell" error and I removed musicmatch from my startup menu so hope that doesn't mess up the log.. thanks a bunch for anyone that is helping me. I really appreciate it.

Reboot in safe mode. Close all Browser and Program Windows.
Have HijackThis fix the following. Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

You may need to set you computer to show hidden files. Click here for Instructions.
Then click start>my computer>local disk
(then follow the path) or Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
Delete the folder(s) listed
C:\Program Files\MyWaySA

Reboot then Run 3S under “Items To Clear” tab place a checkmark in all of them but user defined folders.
Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves now.
Ok I did everything that was suggested and here is my new log. I just want to add that when this all started happening I would do what I described in my first post, boot to safe mode, run norton, restore to any earlier date and the problem would always go away for about a month so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this helped with THAT problem but I will be convinced if March comes and goes and you don't see me back here asking for more help..I thank you you so much! I love this place!

One of the best features of Windows XP is the System Restore option,
however if a virus infects a computer with this operating system the virus can be backed up
in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after a virus removal.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account
which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because
you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

To help keep your PC clean follow the recommendations in Tony Klein's article
So how did I get infected in the first place?
Hi, so far so good, I can open "my computer" without it freezing…I hold my breath each time just waiting for the trouble to start..LOL..my computer now shuts down in 27 seconds instead of 60 so it's an improvement there also. That program I downloaded, security suite, is that something I should run periodically to clean everything out? or will that mess things up? or is there not a reason to? Is there a good place I can go for help with my pIII 933 ? :)

is that something I should run periodically to clean everything out

Yes I would run it about once a week.

Is there a good place I can go for help with my pIII 933 ?
