Killbox backs up the files you delete by using Killbox :) It's better to remove the contents of the !Submit folder. Then make a new HijackThis log and post it here.
I've got a similar problem on a Win98 box… I'm seeing the PartyPoker pop-up along with a bunch of other pop-ups. I've run SpyBot and Ad-Aware both and cleaned up what they found (even ran 'em in safe mode to get the last things they found.) Still having problems. I posted my HJT log under the title "Keep getting pop-ups." I'd appreciate it if someone here could take a look at that and see if you've got any ideas… I'd really rather not reformat this user's PC!
Hans,
Deleted contents of the !Submit directory.
Here is my latest HijackThis log.
Thanks

Looks good! :)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers real-time protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
I also suggest that you delete your Temp folders regularly. Use CleanUp! to do this automatically for you!
Hans, Thanks for all your help. There is a remarkable difference and I can use my machine seriously again for the first time in a good while. I already have AdAware but I am taking your advice and installing Spybot and at least one or two other products that you mentioned as well. Take care and thanks again. Steve
Great job

You're more then welcome.
Glad we were able to help

Peace be with you :wavey:
