Service Pack 2

I'm having IE problems after installing service pack 2 – I get an error message telling me that I have an internet connectivity problem when I try to open any web site online, even a poker site that doesn't use IE, and can't reconnect with Windows Update… I ran "Registry medic", thinking that might help but it didn't. Iremoved service pack 2 and the problem disappeared and it reappered after I re-installed, so I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the difficulty. Any ideas?

are you using a firewall? if so disable xp built in firewall

No other firewall and I even tried deactivating the XP firewall but it didn't help. I tried a fix offered by windows update at one time and it didn't work either… something usining dos to enter a command…

hi Marylyn, there are some issues with sp2, if everything works without it leave it uninstalled.
