IE problem after SP2

Hello everyone, I'm having IE problems after installing service pack 2 – I get an error message telling me that I have an internet connectivity problem when I try to open any web site online, even a poker site that doesn't use IE, and can't reconnect with Windows Update… I ran "Registry medic", thinking that might help but it didn't. removed service pack 2 and the problem disappeared and it reappeared after I re-installed. so I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the difficulty. Any one can help me? Thanks

SP2 does not cause the type of problem that you describe. But if you are only now updating from SP1 or no service pack at all, you machine has been open to a variety of vulnerabilities.
