Cd R/rw And Dvd R/rw Stopped Working Suddenly

When I go into device manager and try to troubleshoot this problem this is what i get in the device status window: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the devices, but it fixes nothing. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks, Chris

hello, I would try actually opening the case and disconnect the ide ribbons and the power plug (to the drives) then reboot. next reconnect the ide ribbons and the power plugs and reboot computer. only if you are comfortable doing this. not sure if this is what you did or not... shelf life
