Ok it appears windows installed and is at the startup page displayed by Lenovo and has been for some time. just now says one moment, which I've learned in time a moment in windows will seem like weeks. Now it has me online for setup, I'll check in later.

ok it has windows installed ans i am running updates now. if there are any after the fact actions i need to perform i guess that's where i am. Z i can't thank youenough for your help and patience and a huge thank you guys at the other site with the tutorials. Z i don't mean to be an ingrate but this thing is miderably s;ow, any ideas? everything is so unreasponsive, i click on  something and it just spins and spins! if there are any special clean ups I need to do i'll check back! again Z. thank you most sincerely for everything!

ok Z, thanks and now which folder do i use to do that? the boot file or the setup file?

Are you/have you read the Clean install link I gave you? All the instructions are in there, explicit and in detail, with pictures.

You're question doesn't make any sense. You boot the USB flash drive, no folder or file is involved, exactly as is described in the Clean Install tutorial I gave you the link for.

hello Z! i'm back…just checking in and saying my pc is working better than before and thanks for the help! but…for some unknown reason a couple days ago this thing started running so slow. i mean slow, slower than my first pc over 20 years ago on dial up! last night i actually timed it to open a page i clicked on and almost 5 minutes! i kept getting prompts to let it open or close. both, to close and try again or let it continue would take a couple minutes at least. can you help please?

Did you just do a Windows Update?

Does this happen if you boot to Safe Mode?

Do you have System Restore enabled?

Are you making image backups using Macrium Reflect?

no, i think i have update set to automatic, it did say i had all mine. i've not tried safe mode, yes i ran system restore last night which seems to have not helped. i'm not doing any images with macrium. i've dealt with slow before but this is unreal. it is constantly freezing up, last night i just turned it off thinking if io can't get this seen about i'll just sell it, as it is it's almost worthless. in task mgr. the performance tabs were off the chart, not that i know anything about that, no matter what i'd do it was not responding. it's very virus acting it seems or infection of some type but malwarebytes and windows security show nothing.

i just got prompted that win sec had actions recommended and opened it up and it was solid white with the actions on the left and nothing else.
