'Legacy USB support' is the only setting I see that is not pure UEFI. I spoke with the builder and he said updates will be fine so we will see.

Thanks for the reference - it is the only information I read that really helps as I reboot and press F8 when I see the logo and can choose the option I want to boot from.

I still cannot understand how to enable secure boot, which it is, and how to disable secure boot if I try to boot other than a UEFI stick.

Asus foreign language hinders ny help  -I straight out asked them how to disable secure boot and how to enable it but their answer was not of any help.

Did you ever find out if your secure boot was enabled or not?

Thi is what Asus sent me to disable secure boot = "During POST, press on the keyboard, Go to Boot -> Secure Boot -> OS Type -> Windows UEFI -> Key Management -> Clear Secure Boot Keys."

I then wrote back asking how to enable secure boot once it is disabled.

I read the manual over and over but if there are how to's I am not able to see them. They seem to say, as do the directions you sent, what things do but not how to do them.

I will continue to read them over and thank you. As usual I keep notes to which I refer.

If I have this right I can boot off the selected drive after I see the logo and tap F8 if both machine and stick are UEFI/GPT.

If there is an issue, I could disable secure boot to  boot[once I learn to set order]

Because the builder enabled USB legacy support I think it makes it easier and just hope all works this way. If not I guess I could click to set to default which should be pure UEFI. Then I would disable secure boot and set boot order then tap the drive I want to boot from.

I know I am making errors but I think some of this is going forward.

I'll let you know if they answer about enabling secure boot.
