Do you see the deleted email in your Deleted Items Folder? I have never used Windows Live Mail so not sure the procedures but if you see the deleted email, you should be able to select it, then recover it either by clicking on some button, or right-clicking on the email and selecting recover/restore, or by just dragging it to your Inbox. Again, I've not used it so not sure of the terminology.

I note this tutorial shows one way if you can recover if the item is not seen.

If that does not work and you do not see the item in your Deleted folder, you might try a program like Recuva from the makers of CCleaner. This is a *free* program for home non-commercial users and has options to recover deleted emails from Windows Mail.

Believe it or not I deleted ALL of my emails in the Deleted Items folder for the first time in years.  It was adding up and I figured if I haven't looked at them in all that time, it was safe to delete them permanently.  Now just 2 days later I needed something in it.  Figures.  Lol.  But you are amazing, that Recuva program worked!!!!!!!!  I was able to recover over 12,000 permanently deleted emails!  Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!  I'm so happy.

I am glad it worked. 12,000 is is a lot. I might suggest you delete those that are older than a year. Then each new year after that, do it again.

Thanks for the followup.
