hello

Win 10x64

I just got another update.

I choose the top selection which is 'PE and the installer', a 350 MB download. There is, on the bottom, a 10 selection. Am I making the right choice to recover my image or should I be using 10?

I have tested the stick and it finds the image so hope I am doing it right.

TY

Peter

P.S. sorry to be vague about the 10 but I forgot exactly what it says - it is one or the choices.

I'm not seeing any of what you saw. I got a 10.5MB download and I still have WinPe 5.0.

This was when I re-built the rescue flash drive.

Did you choose Win PE and components, the first choice, or Win 10, the last choice, when creating the flash drive?

I chose the first and it works, although I have the older BIOS. but it boots into Macrium and I can see all my images.

I'll bet you chose the last. I also chose 64 byte.

May I ask, like the disc, does the flash drive get auto erased if it has data on it already or do I erase it first? I think the latter but wanted corroboration.

*Please note where it says the download will be about 500 MB's and mine was 350.

I did it again to test and I still get a 300 MB installation.

I am following the same prompts as you and the link I sent to you. That link did  mention  the download would be about 500 MB.

I might try again tomorrow but with a disc this time to see the size.

I guess the important thing is that we can see our images and can recover them.

TY for sending the pics.

I had a second thought -maybe when you click 'change PE version'(x 64) or someplace we see something differently, I choose Win PE and all of its components not just Win PE 5. I did not see that choice. i did see 10. I am trying to explain from memory which is hard to do as you can tell.

**Is it possible to ask the forum about the size of the download which i cannot do as I don't have serial # not being a paying member.

Are you  clicking Win PE 5 for 8.1 or the last one for Win 10?

When I follow the prompts exactly for win 10 I get a 300 MB installation which boots fine into Macrium with Win 10.

Macrium states that 5 is for 8.1 but that the last choice is for Win 10. That installs with 300 MB.

Perhaps you are using Win 8.1?

Please see the attachment.

I chose Win PE 10.

Is that correct as I use Win 10 or should I have chosen Win PE 5?

I thought the choice was based upon the OS but have read it is based upon hardware.

Yes, that was it. Needed to "Change PE Version" to Windows 10. I had already download3ed WinPE for Win 10 so no additional download was needed.

Creating new flash drive now.

Thanks Peter.
