I have an iMac 2007 that no longer works. I backed up my data with a G Drive 500Gb external Drive. I have a Dell 380 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit that I'd like to transfer my iMac data (pictures, music, etc.) to. I have a USB cable that when I connect to my Windows machine from the G Drive it shows in Disk Management but not in "My Computer - Hard Disk Drives".
I understand the file systems are different. Is their anyway I get get these files transfered to my Windows 7 machine?
don't think using a usb stick or connecting via home network is an option seeing how the imac no longer works and it's just a hfs+ formatted external hard drive he's trying to copy the files from ztrucker.
Nothing seemed to work getting the data off the G Drive; so I deleted the G Drive, formated it, and I'm now using it to back up my files on the Windows system. Now I'm left with the Hard Drive in my iMac that contains the data I want to transfer. I'll have to learn how to get that drive out of the mac since the machine isn't working. This still leaves me with the problem of getting the data off an external drive onto my windows machine. Can't use a USB or internet procedure. I need to get the windows machine to recognize my mac hard drive ( I have the cables to hook the drive up) so I can transfer the data. Any ideas?
